Rear Parking Sensors - Where does the audible warning come from??

My Roomster came with some nice surprises including factory fitted rear parking sensors.
As you reverse the car, if you approach an obstacle, a graphic appears on the radio screen showing you a basic readout of info which is coming from the sensors. This indicates to me that the sensors are working. But there is no audible signal and I cant find any setting for the Dance head unit where you can control the warning signal.
Can anyone help? I know the dealer will fix it under the guarantee but the dealer is a longslow drive away on the north side of Sydney Harbour and I was not planning on going back before the first service.

    cheers,

    Max

can't you go down to the 'gong & get it fixed at the Skoda dealer down there? It's a National Warranty

possibly the audio can be turned on/off in the MFD?

Thanks Brad. I could go down the Gong. But it cost me a day when they serviced our Octy. Just looking for a quick fix. You could be right about a setting in the computer.
    cheers,

I have a suspicion that there may be a small speaker mounted low on each B pillar for the parking sensors.
There was a thread on Briskoda about a step by step how to retrofit factory parking sensors and I'm sure that's where the speakers were mounted.

    Hi,

It may seem a silly question but have you checked the options for the speaker volume? You can change the volume and tone of the reverse sensor and your may be turned off? All it takes is a 8 year old son to play with the stereo when you are not watching.....

    Hope that helps.

Been there, done that, but it got me thinking. I just presumed that the rear parking aid would make a noise when in use. Unlikely I know but maybe in this car it doesnt make noise? Because as I mentioned before, when you put the car in reverse, a parking aid graphic appears on the screen, showing you, via a series of bars, how close you are to whatever is behind you. Maybe the graphic is in lieu of an audible signal?
The head unit is a "Dance" (great name for a car audio system, eh??? : - )
and within the settings you can switch off the graphic parking aid display. You can also set the audio volume for when you select reverse so that when you are reversing the car stereo goes as quiet as you like.
Oh well, I suppose the techs will know when it gets serviced.

The Bolero has a specific setting to turn the rear parking sensor beeps on or off. If the Dance does not have that it may be true that there is no audio indication but that sounds strange to me. I can't recall a car with rear sensors that didn't have an audible warning.

You might try posting the query on Briskoda there are bound to be way more Roomster / Dance owners there.

I'd say very much it should have an audible noise, a bit like GPS units, you are supposed to go by sound more than stare at a display.

I agree. The visual display ( and even more recently the camera) has been the more recent addition to reversing sensors.

    Hi guys,

I have a GTD on order with RVC no parking assist though.

Also wanted parking sensors, more so for the front and I have been advised by the dealer that the sensors are available for the rear and they quoted $880 fitted.

Is this correct that and or is it possible to get both front & rear sensors.

Any feed back would be appreciated.
