    G'Day All,

Just a quick one to let you know we now have a Moon White MY16 162TSI vRS sitting in our garage comfortably housing a Maxi-Cosi Euro NXT rear facing car seat. Thanks for everyones help!

Very nice!!! I feel much safer in the RS due to lots of safety features. Giving me peace of mind for the Mrs and kids.

Reichter I agree. Definitely no substitute for attentive driving but nice to know with the tech pack that the car is keeping an eye on things if we are ever suddenly distracted by a screaming baby. ACC is sensational on the highway!

    Nice purchase.

Sorry I missed this thread for you.

Below is for others wanting similar information.

We bought a 8P A3 and the boot is 10cm deeper than a Mk VI golf (checked on a colleagues who bought the golf at the same time). Made a difference with a pram.

Then the Octavia wagon , boot doesnt even compare. Huge. We currently have one rear facing passenger side, and one forward facing drivers side.

Have the identical setup in the A3. Octavia has plenty of leg room on passenger side. A3 not too bad, but you do notice it.

Went away on holidays and loaded everything in the boot of the Octavia and could close the luggage screen. Hired a passat sedan at the destination and couldnt get it all in the boot, had to move a suitcase into the passenger compartment. If you want boot space, an Octavia wagon is awesome. Superb wagon is just silly. Compact SUV owners like Tiguans etc, eat your heart out. Oh and you can get a single bed mattress flat in the boot of a Mk II wagon just by folding the rear seats and you can still close the boot completely.

On the upside, the Mrs doesnt feel intimidated by driving the Octavia and says it doesnt feel much different for size when driving compared to the A3.

I hired from Europcar for work trips solely due to them having Octavia hatches and Wagons in the intermediate class. More room for the kids and I than the Commodores and Falcons they had. Nothing has come close since. We have been given Passats and had the same trouble. Even and Audi A6 once and we struggled. A4s we were upgraded to free also were a pain to fit.
