Has anyone fitted either a RNS510/RCD510 into an 08 base model 1.9 tdi octavia? what type of face plate, wiring changes CAN etc?

Hey mate,

Anything you find for a similarly aged golf will apply.

You can buy the plastic surround from the dealer pretty easily, the part number I found somewhere on briskoda as I remember it.... having said that, I do believe I have the right part spare.... I would probably sell it to you if your interested.

You would need to do a little coding with VCDS, but that is also easy if you have the tools.

As for wiring, it will jsut hook up with the harness you have. What other bits and pieces you want will depend though - you dont have a GPS antenna in your car, so you would need to get one and hook that up if you went the RNS rout.

If all that sounds too hard, you might want to look at the ANS units, (I have an ANS-810).
