    Questions

    Hoping for some help please:
    1) Given the system on the vRS is keyless, what is the actual foldout metal key for? Can't find any where on the car that takes the key.
    2) My rear wiper on the hatch needs adjusting. When in use, the arc of the wiper goes to far, so the wiper actual hits the body of the car. i.e. Comes into contact with the paintwork. Anyone else have this? Is it an easy fix, or do I have to take it to a dealer?

    cheers.

No idea about number 2 but there is a keyhole, have a look in the manual. A plastic bit is covering it on the door handle.

The foldout metal key can be used to unlock the doors in case of battery failure

Have had my vrs for over a month now and loving it. Had the complimentary 1500km service a week ago and had some minor niggles addressed. The rear wiper was arcing too far and hitting the paintwork, so they adjusted it. The glovebox light was working intermittently - fixed. Front passenger door handle was very stiff - lubed and fixed.

In the last couple of days I've noticed a couple of things that I will probably have Skoda look at:
    1) There appear to be several dark spots that have developed under the clear coat on the front drivers side guard above the tyre. 5-6 spots maybe 2-3mm in size. Almost looks like acne and definitely under the clear coat. They are slightly raised so my nail can catch the spots.
    2) If I do a full lock u-turn, either left or right, I'm getting a whirring noise from the front wheels/suspension/diff.
    3) Opening the hatch when there's been rain results in a lot of water draining off the rear windscreen back into the car - very annoying and probably not something that can be addressed.

Finally, does anyone have a weather shield installed on the drivers window and is it worth doing?

Please let me know if you have any ideas on these issues. Cheers.

1500km service? I asked about this and was told my first service was at 15,000km. there was no 1000-1500km service. did they change the oil and filter? or was it just a once over and address your issues?

I had weather shields on both front doors. All they seem to do is thicken the A pillar so you can see less (since they're tinted). Maybe if you like to drive with the windows open a bit they would have some use, but otherwise - not.
