    Problems with Skoda Dealers

I have just received the worst news about my new skoda rs which was supposed to be delivered on the 16th July would you beleive it has not even been ordered by the dealer. The dealer in question is Steve Jarvin motors in Sydney that have let me down in a big way without any form of apology.
The vehicle was going to be leased and I have seen the order from the lease company to the dealer, so they are most definately at fault on this one. After much debate with the lease company my colour and specification cannot be located anywhere and the vehicle has had to be ordered (finally) with a delivery of early December.
In the meantime i am to be provided by the lease company with an interim vehicle so that i can give back my wifes car at long last.

would be interested to hear if anyone else has had a similar experience and i hope that the nearly 9 months from start to delivery is worth the wait. I am sure it is..................

The vehicle in question was Skoda Octavia 2.0 TSI RS DSG with leather, alarm, bluetooth and front parking sensors and most important SPRINT YELLOW.

Hmm, that is really bad, it sucks mate. That dealer should supply you a car to drive until yours arrives. You better ask for the VIN no. of your newly ordered car, that way you know for sure that it was ordered.

Contact VW head office, they should know about it.

Sorry to hear that. On the plus side, you should get some extras for free, like SatNav...

As mentioned, get the VIN as soon as you can, so that you can track it yourself. Mine actually arrived in Australia on time, but was taking getting delivered, but North Shore came to the party and loaned me a couple of cars, (Scout and Captiva) while mine was being processed.

Sounds suss, lots of dealers hate lease companies due to them passing the buck. Even if they have shown you the order it doesn't mean it got to the dealer. Also suss how they are giving you the loan car and not the dealer...

i'm waiting for 6 weeks from order date (mid-june) before i start hassling my dealer for the vin number - to make sure its being acknowledged at the factory.

    This....

Have you talked to the dealer? Did they get anything from the lease company? As above, ive seen 'proof' at the Fin. Company before, but it never made it to the dealer....

That's the worst... but you're not alone! I had a similar experience with my dealer (NMG), signed the deal, ordered the car which I was told was on its way into Aus anyway, 4 week delivery... I asked for the VIN about a week later per the advice of many on this forum and 'tracked it' using the shipping company site... lo and behold, the car they said they had coming into stock was actually a pre-FL model that had landed in Aus 12 months ago!!

I got up the dealer real quick, I certainly didn't hold back I tell you!! I was pretty p'sd off!! They said it was an error by their 'stock controller', which wasn't really a great endorsement for their ability to process a customer's order... to their credit they admitted their error immediately and resolved the situation promptly, allocated me a car on the next shipload which was already on its way... turned out to be about a 4 week delay from the original delivery date, so no biggie.

I've been very satisfied with their customer service before and since, but still, had I not made the VIN enquiry myself nd done my own checking, I would have faced a situation exactly like yours, with possibly months of delay as a result I dare say.

so yes... it's not unheard of... and I'm sorry to hear it's happened to you, it's a dealer screw up but please don't think badly of the car... the RS is most definitely worth the wait! A scintillating drive! Once you're behind the wheel and grinning from ear to ear, all this will be a distant memory....

    Transporter

I agree it should have been them that supplies the vehicle but when you have managed to get the lease company to remove them from the list of suppliers that is justification enough. It will hit them on the old hip pocket and i'm sure when the head of the company receives my letter he may have something to say about it as well.

I will be sending Head office a letter shortly telling them what happened.

Thanks dodgey - i picked that up on another thread last night as well. the dealer has confirmed to me today that the SatNav will be standard and it will be an MY11.

Not suss woofy - the dealership confirmed they had the paperwork to me and could not understand how it had not been ordered. And the reason the lease company is supplying the car is because i refused to have the order placed back on the same company.
