Is the Passat AllTrack the new Scout?

I have to say it looks tempting from what I have seen so far and it's even got the same engine as my vRS.

Define "the new Scout" please. Do you mean to say the AllTrack replaces the Scout in the VW Group lineup or becomes the alternative for the Subaru Outback like the Scout was when it was released? Or something else? I'd still buy the Scout - it is cheaper.

I mean the underpinnings will be the same as whatever body Skoda put on top when the new Scout arrives.

Its the AWD Passat, like the Scout is the AWD Octavia.
And of course it has the 125TDI... You think VW would give it the 103?? And let Skoda compete?!

That being said, I would have bought a 125TDI Scout, instead of the vRS... But oh well.

well considering the new octavia (mk3) is going to be bigger, i.e. passat sized, i'd say yes - the new scout will share alot with the new passat alltrack.

In that case they would have sold two at least because so would have I.

The new Octavia is built on the Golf7 chassis (MQB?). The current Passat is not. So that probably tells you how much the new Scout will have in common with the current Passat Alltrack

My purchase depedns on timing and whether the new Scout (any of them) is as bad as the concepts. The Alltrack is seriously in the running to be my next car next year.

But there are serious suggestions that the new Scout model will be more Superb based than Octavia based.
