Yep as above, I had someone reverse into our car, it was a friend of ours, just reversed straight back into it hard as they didnt see it at all. They claimed full responsibility as our car was parked there etc. We got slugged a premium rise next year. Because the no claim bonus with RACV/NRMA is not just no claims for at fault accidents, but no claims at all. Even though his insurer paid out the whole lot. We made the mistake of getting our insurer to put the claim in even though we had chosen the repairer and took it there ourselves.
Geez, NRMA were awesome when we made a claim recently. They even advised us to transfer our current policy onto our new car, and create a temporary policy for the car we were selling to avoid the increase we'd get with a new policy (and retain the no claim bonus). And then because the new car was less than the old, we got a cheque in the mail for $125! That said, I've had a look around at bingle and others and there are some really competitive deals even though we've made a claim. If only the green slip wasn't such a rip off.
