Paddle shift retrofit to new Scout?

What you need to do is get someone with the model Scout you're looking to buy to run a VCDS autoscan to work out what steering wheel control module it's running. Likely if it already is running a multi-function steering wheel it will have the controller that supports the paddle shifters.

Next you have to source a steering wheel with paddle shifters and possibly an airbag if the shape of the airbag/connectors is different. A good place for steering wheels is here: Skoda Octavia 3 - 5E - Multifunction Steering Wheel - With DSG Paddle Shift - 5E0419091AF

It's not a difficult job to retrofit but working with airbags is a hazard - suggest getting a professional to do it. Job shouldn't take more than 30 minutes with the right tools.

No problems. As brad says just run a search for paddle shifter retrofit and you'll pull up a number of threads on the topic. There's even a few youtube videos if you're keen to DIY. I have personally installed a Golf R wheel into a Tiguan and it was relatively straight forward once the airbag was removed - which is a bit tricky the first time you do it.

I used to use the paddles all the time until I had the DSG software tuned. After that I hardly used them at all as the car shifted how I wanted.
