    Ordered my RS today

After around 5 months of looking at this car, I have finally put in my order today. Race blue, full leather seats, tow bar (boring but necessary).

What clinched the deal? Overall value for the price paid, I love the DSG gearbox (despite problems reported), great salesman who actually made an effort to sell the car.

I am excited, and also frustrated with the 3-4 month wait (but I knew after reading this forum that it would take that long). Oh well, it should be only 4 weeks after I get back from overseas so it won't be that bad.

After seeing K1W1's posts, I think I will also take as many photos as possible while it is brand new condition.

    nice one mate! diesel/petrol, wagon/hatch?

also, with a bit of TLC, you can keep them looking brand new. Just requires a bit of wax from brand new. Dont let the dealers touch it with paint protection. Just buy some high quality wax, prep the paint and apply it. Looks a million dollars!

and do post pics when you get it

hey Tunes ... enlighten me on keeping the car looking good. I've got about a month left to wait before my Black Magic Vrs wagon turns up ... was considering paint protection as figured this would be easier to keep things relatively clean. I assume wax is the better option for keeping it looking good?

I bought all my stuff online from carcareproducts.com.au. Considering the dealer flogs paint protection for around $500 and it only lasts for 6 to 12 months, it is cheaper to buy the products yourself to do it over and over keeping it looking A1! I bought the Supernatural wax and completly redo the car every 4-5 months. You can use a sealant instead of wax if you want it to last longer.

Here are some photos of the car.

Looks awesome. Nice to see as I ordered white. Still have about 4-6 weeks to wait for delivery

Are you going to do tint? I couldn't tell from the photos if you have yet.

Is it just me, or does it look like the car should sit about another 10-20mm lower? Could you do this afterwards without voiding your warranty?

Thanks for pointing out the thread and your recommendations on product ... pictures of your gleaming Candy white vRS have me convinced to do the work myself.

They come standard with a light tint, but I havnt tinted them darker......yet. I plan to do it soon though. Nothing beats a shiny white car with tinted windows and black tyres!

Sorry for the late response - on holidays in Victoria and away from an Internet connection (which was a lot like being dead for a week!).

My Skoda RS is a petrol powered hatch. Delivery is tentatively set for 15 April 2010 but I understand all of the variables involved in that.

I'm back to Switzerland tomorrow, back around 1 March which means only a 4-6 week wait from when I get back. That's the only way I can feel better about having to wait so long.

Now, all of our conversations are based around "When we get the Skoda..."

Make sure that you keep bugging your dealer to get you the VIN as soon as it's available then you can track it's progress through the shipping company.
