$60 buck option with NRMA, if the car is less than three years old you can request OEM screen. You can have them repair and if you don't like it you get the new OEM glass. So I ticked that box for the Skoda. Doesn't affect your NCB either
I used our cover to replace the multivan windscreen a month or so ago now. No excess, free windscreen. Bonus. For Shannons it's just included in your premium although if/when I move to another insurer I'll probably tick that box again anyway.
If it has an engine or heartbeat it's going to cost you. | Refer a Friend - AussieBroadband $50 Credit

I dunno who that was with Kiwi, but someone on the facebook Skoda Aus page was just quoted $500 all up for the same thing with Windscreens O'brien.
There are different types of screen in the parts catalogue. Standard, standard with rain/light sensor, then the rain/light sensor and sound proofing.
Sorry I just saw your reply.
$500 sounds like either a screen without rain sensing wipers or their insurance excess which they would have to pay to the installer.
FWIW I ended up getting a genuine Skoda screen fitted through Windscreens O'Brien. It cost $10 more than their (O'Briens) non genuine screen and the insurance company were happy to pay the difference anyway,
I got mine from Preston Motors Skoda in Epping in Feb for $475 with rain sensor and only $125 installed by RACV (and i'm not a member).
Good blokes over there.

An interesting bit of info; driving down the highway, 110km/h, at 2am, I hit a rather large bird with the windscreen.
Gave an excellent thud and cracking sound, and shook the car a little. Zero windscreen damage.
I was really quite impressed.

I probably should have mentioned that, when I say rather large, I mean something around a large chook.
Not a Coles chook, one of those huge white fluffy ones. Between football and basketball size.

Hmm does that mean you have a different sensor if the windscreen is replaced? Some are better than others, and the one in mine has been awesome compared to those in some hire cars I have had. I've had a small chip in the windscreen wiper range since about 6mths so know one day I'll probably have to replace the screen if I sell it privately...
