I keep looking at the photos from Goodwood.
MUST. BUY.
My wife has owned black cars exclusively since the early 1980s and I can tell you that back cars look dirty within 10 minutes of being washed and they show every single dirt spot or paint chip.
If you like to keep your car clean do not buy black unless you can afford a daily car detail.

I'm on my second black car in 5 yrs, although being wider and taller it gets marked more often. I have used toughseal for both and it keeps them looking cleaner for longer and quicker to clean. Not as good as the race blue though, it hides dirt better.
I've downloaded HIGH RES pics from Skoda Media and noticed this on the vRS interior photo. They must have shot the Combi version... See the centre buttons near the gearbox.... the Boot Lid button? Auto open/close on the boot or will it just be to unlock it?
I spot a USB entertainment port too.

The USB port is visible on any picture of the dash and FINALLY puts to death the stupid proprietary MDI interface. There is a standard AUX in port beside it if you look at other pictures.
The boot release switch is fitted to the current Octavia hatches. It just unlocks the boot.
Yes you are correct that is the switch I was referring to. I use it as a boot release switch when the ignition is turned off.
The button MJkooLio refers to is the switch for the electric operation of the boot lid on WAGONS fitted with KESSY. The graphic on the switch for some reason shows a hatch the same as the graphic on the key fob but the switch itself is only fitted to wagons with KESSY.
It is explained in the user manual for the new Octavia series.
The online user manuals for the new model make for interesting reading. Some nice features and some strange ones.
It looks like the hatches now get a 12V socket in the boot as standard (finally).
It looks like there is a 230V 150W AC socket on the back of the centre console for plugging things like notebooks or other low power AC devices directly into.
The parking assist function will now get you out of a car park as well as into one (maybe it always did that?)
The motorway light pattern for the adaptive headlights only operates at speeds over 110kph
The auto stop/start appears to be standard and has to be deactiviated every time the ignition is started if you don't want to use it.
There are both spare wheel and tyre repair kit options. It will be interesting to see what we get here.
If they stick with the Columbus system in Aus the CD/DVD slot and SD sockets are now located in the passenger side glove box.
The USB socket on the dash is for things like thumb drives and external hard drives.
There is a "Media in" socket that seems to replace the USB/Aux socket on the dash for use with i devices that allows control of the devices from the Columbus screen. There is an ominous comment that "Extension cables to connect external sources are available from ŠKODA original accessories." There is a second comment that "Video (only available if a red adapter is used)". Maybe the MDI is not dead after all.
There is no indication of the size of the hard drive or even whether there is a hard drive fitted any longer. I guess with support for SDXC cards it's not really required any more.
The Columbus will only index 1000 files. If you storage media contains more files that that tough luck.
Most common video formats are supported including standard DVD and things like iPad and Windows Media player.
Album artwork is supported via Gracenote.
Octavia Combi is 4x4.
Octavia Combi RS should be 4x4 too - though the site does a good job to hide it.
