You and me both. If it had been available from the start it would have been a no brainer. It addresses almost everything I don't like about the Ambition.

It's odd though that some options available back in 2013 are now not available. Upgraded seats and colour maxidot are now not available on Ambition/Plus.

Makes perfect sense - options available in packs. Much easier to order stock that way. VW has already done it with their range.

You can still get the partial leather seat upgrade on the Amb+

I wonder if the cheapest Scout has the multilink suspension and so is a cheaper way to get it than the standard Elegance Octavia?

Appears to be (in 110TDI guise). Not a DSG like the Elegance though and no doubt misses out on some options.

Super-keen on the Skoda Scout 135TDI, but I just realised they didn't include adaptive cruise control. Now I'm considering the petrol. I wonder why they left ACC out of the premium diesel, seems bizarre?

If it has normal cruise and you don't mind it otherwise I wouldn't be too worried. ACC isn't that great. In some circumstances normal cruise is better.

Has anyone tried buying the latest Scout? There are none currently listed on Carsales and trawling though dealers new car inventories online shows nothing either. Are they like the RS with 9 month waiting lists?

Quite probably. They only like to hold stock of 5 speed Fabias, 2 year old Roomsters and non-rapid Rapides

You might have to ring a few dealers & see what their stock situation is - there's a few boats on the water at the moment so maybe they are on them.

Don't forget the 3 year old "demo" RS with only 300km on the clock: 2012 Skoda Octavia RS 147TSI MY12 Direct-Shift Gearbox

Back to Scouts though you can also pick up a near new 2012 Scout with low km here:2012 Skoda Octavia Scout 103TDI MY13 Direct-Shift Gearbox

It's an unfortunate thing that some models there's massive waiting times and then on the other hand there's stock that sits around for 3 years

There were apparently 160 Scouts in various guises available for sale in Australia when I went to buy one. You need to speak with a dealer as from my experience the Skoda dealer websites are woefully out of date in terms of stock and I don't think they have listed them yet on Carsales etc.

    cheers
