I presume you mean the Octavia wagon was the pick?

It must be an absolute b**** to be upstaged by a cheaper car. Almost feel sorry for them....almost.

I am very confused by the 'too cheap' comment, did he mean the cabin of the car? if so, I am pretty sure he did not actually sit in the ford and the skoda to compare the quality, he also mention the Occy RS is missing the Sat nav, and I am pretty sure there is a Sat Nav in our RS as standard.

I don't think there's anything that feels cheap on the RS. It's just too cheap for his set budget of 'about 60k'.

Cheap journalism - the guy probably wrote the article never having driven the car and just doing a "paper" comparison of specs. He may have looked up some other reviews, though surprised he didn't include an SV6 or SS Commodore sportswagon in the mix. Not that I'm a massive fan but if it's the price point and wagon + sports you'd think it would be on the shopping list at least.

Yeah, like the last time I walked into a car dealership I said to the sales guy " I would buy this car from you as it is great and ticks all the boxes, but it doesnt cost enough. If you charge me an extra $15k I will buy it"

Stupid Journo obviously only wants the new subaru as he even only made mild mention of the new golf R wagon.

I think a fe people on here have gone from Liberty to Octavia & the Octavia isn't quite as "quality" as the Liberty was. Octavia is significantly cheaper and definately cheaper to run (and more reliable).

I rarely take notice of what Australian journalists write as they are usually inaccurate, fairly lazy & simply parrot press releases.
