    Octavia RS Wagon swaybars & suspension

    What-up fellas!

    Just wondering if anyone has fitted aftermarket swaybars, anti roll bars, struts or bushed to their Octavia RS?

    I've been looking into getting a whiteline adjustable bar and maybe fitting brushes to stop me getting so much body roll on the track.

    Basically, I want my wagon to corner like the RS-P footage every Octy driver has no doubt drooled over, but also be able to adjust it so it's a bit more forgiving when I'm not on the track.

    I know that the RS-P's suspension plays a big part in it's fluid motion, so I also want to ask the question: What suspension systems should I start looking at so that I'm flatter through the corners than Natalie Portman's chest? Springs or coilovers?

    Any help in this matter would be much appreciated.

    How much money you want to spend? Swaybars & WALK kit from whiteline first. Then either springs / shock kit or coilovers. Good coilovers (KW V2 or V3) are awesome buy may be overkill. Koni FSD shocks with eibach springs will be a good cheaper compromise.

    Dont do a full bush kit unless you are happy with lots of NVH.

    I'm willing to spend around $500 on swaybars etc and was hoping to get suspension for a grand or just over... the cheaper the better!

    What do you recommend from this selection:
    Whiteline Automotive - performance handling and suspension products. car spring coil shock damper swaybar sway bar anti-sway bush bushes australia australian whiteline automotive performance road holding turn-in camber caster toe in vehicle hot 4 v8

    I'm unsure whether to get my gear online or should I give Pedders a buzz and see if the can get it cheaper (minus the postage) as I'd rather get them to help me install it too. My Tuner (Evolve Technik) deal with H&R, who also offer sports springs and coil-overs as well as swaybars, but they are a bit out of my price range.

    Should I invest the extra $$$ for better quality gear, or will the Koni shox with springs do the same job?
    As I mentioned, I'd rather go with something adjustable so after track days I can tinker it back a bit closer to OE settings.

    I would first look at the anti lift / castor kit and adjustable rear sway bar. Rear sway will flatten out the car in turn and you can dial out understeer with the adjustment. Front swaybar will be very expensive to fit as they usually need to drop the subframe and potentially remove the control arms. I would go to shocks & springs next.

    1k on coilovers will not get you a very decent set. I would look at the Eibach / Koni FSD option instead. You should be able to get online for around 1k total. Koni FSD are NOT externally adjustable although have a frequency response valve that will firm up the shock when driving quickly but still have bump compliance at slow speed. Best of both worlds. (They are the OEM product on the Lambo Gallardo FYI)

    Don't dismiss coilovers, have a look at places like DPM performance in the UK.

    My KW V1's were around a grand imported, for different car.

    KW V1 for 1k is a good buy. Is probably worth considering too. They are non adjustable.

    What are you doing to the brakes? No point making a car go fast & handle well if it does not stop properly!

    Nothing on brakes yet. Brembos are so bloody exy! But do I have a choice? The only other ones I've come across are the Forge which are better value and are a 6 pot piston cal, where as the Brembos are only 4 for the just over that price.

    Donno, I think I'm starting to cross the line between street and track car which is starting to burn big holes in my wallet.

    haha good point. At some stage you probably give up and buy a track car and trailer (and I know a bloke that did this because he kept breaking really expensive bits on his R34 GTR)

    That's my dream, some day when I have more time on my hands, I'd love to build a little track car from the ground up. Maybe in another 20 years I can buy the shell of and old Exige cheap and fix her up good and proper....one day!
