    Question Octavia RS Traction

Thinking of APR stage 1, but I heard the traction will suffer abit, is there an efficient way to improve traction?

I heard whiteline anti lift kit is great for this purpose, would like to know how much is it for the whole thing(parts+intallation cost), and is it going to void warranty of suspention parts.

Please feel free to suggest anything else, I am a total noob in regard of tuning.

    Thanks guys, appreciated.

Have you thought about other tuners other than APR? There's lots of options out there these days (DNA, GIAC, Viezu, Revo etc etc etc). Any particular reason for APR cause prices can get pretty competitive if ya know what I mean but it all depends on your requirements.
Mine's tuned with DNA tuning. Speak to John Lu. He's one of the sponsors here. Really friendly and knowledgeable and I've had both my cars tuned through him.

Mostly because I can turn the ECU into stock mode, it's better if there is any warranty repair work needed, you know what I mean.

You can do that with a few of the other tunes too. My cheap as chips $666 Bluefin allows return to stock via the handheld device As do a few of the others

Bluefrog is simply recommending some decent tyres - price will vary depending on supplier & tyre brand. Bank on $200-$450 each

Personally, I'd see if you have a problem first - it depends on your driving style.

Fixes for axle tramp at take-off may also include:
    Torque arm insert
    upgraded dampers (and/or springs)
I would get the complete alloy lower control arm replacement as it includes the ALK
    limited slip differential

I'm a noob at tuning too and finally took the plunge just a few weeks ago, got a Stage 1 ECU retune, went with a GIAC tune thru Exoticars at Parramatta (ask for Arthur)..traction is definitely an issue given the higher torque output but only IF you give it the full boot off the line! I mean I was getting wheel spin with the factory tune if I gave it a bootfull from standstill but with the Stage 1 tune there's a fair amount more wheelspin to be had..as such I'd suggest that the easiest way to improve traction is to moderate your initial throttle application until the car is moving (at least out of first gear) then stamp down on that loud pedal and enjoy the turbo's extra boost

how bad is the wheelspin? what if you floor it out from a corner, is the car still under control?

The car will behave badly if you choose to drive like a nob & treat the throttle like an on/off switch. It's only a fwd family truckster.

The other thing that might be possible for those with the electronic slippery diff thing is to make more aggresive via vcds.

holy cow. just a little warning ......

If this turns into a tuning debate, I will delete without remorse. Its all been said before elsewhere, do a search... PLEASE! Stop going off topic - this thread is supposed to be about improving traction.... on that...

everything brad said. I'm sure its also been discussed more than once before too.

Changing Tyres sounds like the most suitable option, it's probably the only tune that won't void any warranty.

May I ask what brand and model to choose? how much are they?
