Hi ZackyD,
RS suspension stiffer than standard Superb. Need Superb Sportline to provide direct comparison as both are sporty with 4WD capability. Standard Superb is a good cruising car.

Rob
Hi All, I'm about to cross shop the two models as I need a bigger car from my current VW Polo. I have two cars that have been shortlisted at the same price point and year model. (The Superb is 2017 whilst Octavia is 2016) Milage both below 50000KM I know the engines are the same but from all accounts the Superb is the bigger car. Beside styling, what is the better overall ride? Thanks

Hi ZackyD,
DArK5HaD0w is correct. Both cars are fwd with multi-link rear suspension. The Octavia is more 'sporty' by design.

the Superb comes in AWD (206TSi) and non-AWD (162TSi) flavours.
as previously mentioned - the RS is more sporty/agile.
The Superb is more comfort/cruiser type.
i previously owned a mk2 Octavia RS.
i made the switch to the mk3 Superb 162TSi about 4 yrs ago - no regrets and love the step up in comfort, practicality.

As has already been said, they're different cars and will provide you with different experiences. It totally depends on your driving style, family circumstances (bigger rear seat, larger boot) and needs v wants as to which car is 'better' for you. As an RS wagon owner for 11 years (and having 2 kids that have grown from toddlers to teenagers now) the Octavia RS still does it for me. I suppose if I were buying now the Superb would definitely interest me coz in all honesty my driving style now is probably more 'sedate' than it was a decade ago, so the handling of an RS may not be so important. Look you'll be a happy owner in either of them I reckon!
