Octavia RS sedan Vs Focus XR5 ?

Bit rich asking owners and fans of VW/Skoda to help with decision but I might as well.

I have 35-37 to spend and just test drove an RS sedan. I was impressed with refinement compared to the Fiesta XR4/Colt Turbo and Polo GTi I have driven.

I figure an extra 10k will get me something more quality built and poised.

The RS wasn't breakneck fast like a WRX is - more smooth power delivery and decent handling but not jarring.

I have been offered a RS sedan with about 30kms on it for 37k driveaway with trade-in.

On other hand I been spying XR5's for 33-35k which was my intention in first place till I checked the RS out.

What thinks ye??

Golf GTi are hard to come by in WA and even then they are at least 40k driveaway with about 5000k on clock at least.

Don't want to mod or chip - bit worried bout the resale value with an unestablished car brand even if it VW clone.

Have you driven the XR5 yet? they look quite menacing to me, but not sure how they go? and would prob be easier selling the XR as apose to the Skoda me thinks? . . .

Its actually a 5cly Ford Duratec motor. Ford incorporated the 5cly design into the Duratec platform for Volvo, so they could produce cheaper versions of the Volvo 5cly.
