Don't mention that over at BriSkoda. The Poms all run 30psi. The bold ones run 32psi. you get burned at the stake if you recommend 34psi or more.

Apparently the recommended pressures in the fuel cap are both a maximum & a minimum and not to be varied from as VW/Skoda never get anything wrong. LOL

36psi min from me sometimes 40psi

Indeed! You try & tell them that. Then you get the "Why would you know more than all the engineers at Skoda?" and any logical explanation is disregarded. No wonder the British Empire has collapsed.

I had 3x mid-70s Mini panel vans that I cared for during my apprenticeship (and lots of other BMC rubbish from the Zetland works). I feel your pain.

Driving the Mini was the second best fun I ever had in a car.
Working on them was one of the worst miseries, especially as it was all done in the street and being in the UK that meant rain, hail, snow or (oh joy, sometimes) shine.
However my monthly routine for points, spark plugs and carburettor jets meant that it started first time every time, no matter how cold.

My apprenticeship forced me to become a very patient person.
    I repaired:

And other assorted rubbish. It was a fleet so we had many & saw them over & over.

    Great pictures!
But I guess the point was that they were repairable and did not have built in obsolescence or technology that will not be supported one day ( just try a read an 8 inch or 5.25 inch floppy disk these days). I still see the occasional 50 year old Bedford truck on the road here.

Not my photos. I worked at a high security site & no cameras were allowed (I don't think I owned one anyway).

There's an abandoned Series 2 Landy in a shed where I work. If I had the room at home I'd restore it.
