Slightly bent bonnet & cracked grille. Her employer at the time self-insured and ran their own panel beating shop (or got a massive volume discount). They had a fleet of about 80 cars & 50 trucks so there was always somebody breaking something.

I heard the Subaru iSight/eyesight system is very sensitive. It even brakes if you go into a roundabout to quick.

And here I was thinking that systems like this might lead to better drivers!

Just think how many ordinary drivers she would have really P****d off in the course of her driving life and continues to do.
Had a friend way back who drove like that, he had represented the UK at fencing and had incredible reflexes but being a passenger was scary and embarrassing and to be avoided.

Put it this way, I'm driving next year to that conference as per usual. She missed a turnoff while I was on the phone to our boss because she was ducking and diving and it cost us another 40min in lost time.

Front Assist and cruise control are different systems though both use the radar function. As I understand it Front Assist is City Emergency Braking and is designed to work from 5-30km/hr. ACC works to control speed, distance behind the vehicle in front and brakes automatically at speeds above 30km/hr.

Front Assist is activated or deactivated in the menu while ACC is switched on/off with the Cruise Control switch. Leave Front Assist ON and don't use ACC in the City were the recommendations I received from the sales guy. Front Assist will brake for you at low speeds. I'm not sure whether it works at high speed if the ACC is OFF.

Front assist only works when the ACC is on and set to a speed while City Emergency Brake is always on(providing you have Front Assist active in the menu) and only works 30km/h or lower.

So can you have acc on (stalk forward) but not activated, and front assist (assist braking 30-150kph) is active?

Or does the car need to be driving using acc for it to work?

My understanding is that front assist works independent of ACC as Brendon_A states. I've had a couple of warning msgs (I think) when ACC is off (Stalk back)

Anybody with the RS manual noticed notchy Gear shift ? Mine is hard to get into 5th. Thought it might "wear in" but still no easier. Will raise with dealer but just wondered if anyone else noticing this.
