Thanks Brad. I've read good things about their oil for VAG cars. Any idea if they are at par or better than Penrite?

I'm leaning towards Fuchs, just want to see what others think.

These engines do tend to use a bit of oil, depending on the individual engine and the individual driver! May as well go with the 5 litre bottle if you do many kms per year.

No idea, the tech data sheet might offer some comparable data. I just remembered, the other brand I was using in the Liberty was Motul - it was great when new (much quieter on startup) but appeared to lose viscosity fairly quickly.

I really don't think there's a huge difference between them as they all meet a minimum spec (504.00/507.00). The really serious oil guys would disregard the VW spec & look soley at the data of the oil & pick from there.

FYI: I got 5 Mann oil filters really cheap (like $10 each) and I got 10L of Castrol Edge 5w-30 VW502.00 for $60 so I'll be going back to 502.00 for the 157,500 & 172,500 services. I still have no idea what the workshop uses - he just points to a big drum and I pay the money & get a stamp in the service book.

Here's the figures - they all look pretty close to me (but I'm a near enough/good enough type guy).

There's probably some essential figures missing eg: base number is important I believe.

Somebody smarter than me will know.

Anyone know the weight of the anthracite gemini? I've seen that other 18inch octavia wheels are 14kg such as the pictoris and turini.

    Probably 14kg?

Time to upgrade to VMR's for some unsprung weight loss. 10.43kg per rim for VMR V710's (18's)

I was thinking more 19s, the wheel arches cry for them haha. If i had the money i'd spring for some BBS, OZs or HRE. i played around with the BBS wheel configurator.

Can get vmrs in 19, they are around 11kg each. 1500 for rims I suspect is lots cheaper than those BBS rims. They look equally phat too

The OEM 19's are a very nice match for the car IMO. I just wanted the practicality of the 18's so will tolerate the look.
