Actually took a while for the windows to activate in that footage. Your car would get reasonably wet if that much rain also came in through the windows.
It is definitely a feature on mk3s, I have seen videos of it. Here is one, admittedly this is a Superb.

It's not actually enabled on the OIII, it needs to be enabled through VCDS. There's a thread on Briskoda detailing it. I must get a cable and enable it on mine.

^^^ that's what I thought. I'm sure I read it - obviously not that hard to do if you have the cable, but annoying if you dont have access to one or someone to code it.

That's weird, it was on by default, is there a reason for it or can we just ask the Dealers to do it for us.
It's on the Superb as standard, I used to have one, but definitely not enabled in the OIII. I have an Ambition Pus and Elegance and neither have it. Can be enabled with a cable though.
I doubt whether a dealer would do it, unless you had one who loved Skodas, it probably is not in the official factory coding instructions.

I have a nagging thought that it is an offence, at least in NSW, to leave a car unsecured? How would this feature sit with that rule? (Excuse me if I've fallen into a nanny state mindset in error.)
Tried the window unlock thing this arvo. Worked a treat! Bugger that I've only discovered it now, a few days out on selling my MKV Golf.

If you have an alarm, the doors are locked and the car has an immobiliser, windows make only a minor difference in 'securing' the car. Plus the idea isn't to leave the windows the whole way down, it's to have them cracked an inch or two at the top (and sunroof tilted) to let the air out so it's not as hot when you get back to the car. As you are walking towards the car, hold unlock button, when you get there all windows are open, car is as cool as it could be, start car, drive off ac on and windows up.
I did that all the time on my mk2 rs. Global unlock is such a useful feature.

It's handy if you like to leave the windows down a few cm (which still makes the car secure IMO) on a hot day & like to have the sunroof open a fraction to vent the hot air. I do it with the wifes car to bring the temps down a fraction as it's parked in the open. Unfortunately she doesn't have auto close on the Craptiva so we've had a few instances where a Sydney summer storm has dampened the interior a fraction.
It doesn't need a lot of water to activate - I've had mine work just using the damp chamois on the glass.
What is the definition of "secure"? When I had the Cabrio I'd often leave it parked with the roof down. I assume if this was illegal the ca wouldn't be able to be locked unless the roof was up.
