    1) I'd go with an independent specialist. You don't say where you live, so it's hard to make a recommendation. I'm fairly sure the service schedule is electronic on the later cars (I have a 2007 model, so I'm not sure). Have you looked in the Skoda Service App?

    2) 4yr/60k for 2.0tsi is oil & filter, spark plugs, cabin filter.
They'll probably try and hit you for brake fluid which is due at 3yrs & 5 yrs.
Possibly a fuel filter but Skoda never actually says when the petrol filter is due.
Possibly an air filter but they aren't due until 90,000km.

    3) Pass

    4) VCDS or OBD11. Set the battery threshold voltage to 16v

    5) Pass

Not happy at all. Skoda's are well built and designed but if the Australian motor industry don't see their value it makes ownership a much more expensive proposition.
Missed this one, I think they are ripping you off. I sold my late 2008 MY08 RS for $10k in mid 2016 with 60k on it. That is a tradein price though, with the scarcity of getting RS Octavias though they should be holding even more value.

I ended up getting a nominal 17k trade in but a 5k discount on the new purchase also. I'm not sure about scarcity of RS, they make up about 50% of sales don't they? In any case happy with the new drive.
    Cheers,

    Trade-in valuations r always ****.

The Dealer offered me $8k trade-in value for my MY11 Octavia RS TSi DSG.
108,000kms, all options except leather & sunroof.
I sold it privately for $12k.
It was Yellow though.....so a harder sell it was.

I've heard no more diesels in any Skoda, not sure if it extends to the Toureg, or the Q7s etc but I get the feeling no more diesels anywhere much anymore and the hybrids will take their place eventually.

VW sure are trying hard to look guilty IMHO. We never cheated on the diesels, we'll just stop making them OK LOL

I think its more that with the new euro standard its pretty impossible to pass with a diesel anymore. It's not just them, lots of companies are dumping diesels.

I’ve finally added footwell lamps and coded the car properly (obdeleven) and I find they really lift the interior ambiance at night. Recommended.

High beam assist is pretty excellent too. Dunno why it wasn’t enabled in the stock vehicle.

I’m a year and a half into my car ownership now, and the front suspension seems to be really creaky noisy. Is this normal at around 30,000klms?
