Reading that the GTI PP brakes are 340mm, use that as a benchmark.....

So I hear the O3 RS gets the bigger brakes from the GTI Performance, but does anyone know the exact specs?
I cant seem to find much info online.
I cant image them putting on anything better than 4 pots as standard.
The reason I ask, is I'm wondering if the standard issue RS brakes are better than the Mk5 R32 fronts, or are the new OEMs better?
Any help appreciated.

The Mk3 vRS uses 340mm front brakes the same as the Golf PP & Golf R. The rears are 272mm solids whereas the PP has 310mm vented.
I think you'll find it's just a heavy, crappy single piston slider caliper. Ideally, keep the 340mm rotors & try & adapt some 4 piston monoblock calipers - you'll probably save about 2kg per corner.
Alternatively, you'd get good $$ if you sold all the 340mm components as a kit and fitted a full BBK with hatted rotors.
This is the OEM 340mm PP kit

Nice one Brad, legend.
Yeah, I like that suggestion, I think it'd be worth keeping the rotors and finding better callipers (and dustless perf. pads) rather then going the whole hog.

I think there wouldn't be much difference in price between the two. People seem to be happy to pay the premium for an OEM brake upgrade solution.
Have a look at what people are getting (not asking) for Golf R brakes.
I'd be looking at a 4 pot PB Brakes system or maybe VWR or ECS tuning - the hatted rotors look very tempting.
