Hi all,
I am currently in the market for a new(ish) car and have been looking for a demo or ex-exec RS Octavia II. I seem to be a little late as there are basically none left on the market. I am considering checking out the 132tsi in the new model as an alternative. But I would love some advice and thoughts on this. Obviously budget doesn't stretch to a new RS, looking as close to $30k as I can. I am coming out of a 2010 Focus XR5 so that is why I was looking at the RS, similar sort of performance... Please help.

I don't think you'd get a 132 for 30k. Look at what the rrp is and roughly 6-10% depending on options, and how desperate the dealer is, is what you will achieve. Stock is rare too, so they don't need to discount much![]()

I have multiple clients that are Skoda dealers, not that fussed with finding the price atm, just more wanting advice on difference between them as cars. And the fun to drive factor of the 132.?
According to briskoda, normal Octavias are missing the x factor that the rs has. Have you driven both? Performance wise the 132 is very spritely, probably similar to the mk2 rs. The new rs is faster again.

I own an mk2 RS and had a 132 mk3 for a week. stock for stock, I think the mk3 might take it. plenty of torque on tap, and where its needed. only 1st gear was a let down, due to torque limit of 7 speed DSG. other than that, handled quite well and stopped well too
Just go & drive one & see if you like it.
Fun factor of the engine is high but DSG7 puts me off straight away.

Thanks for the feedback! I have driven a few 147rs and a tdi RS as well. But will check out the 132.
I must of got one of the last RS ex exec in Sydney a few months ago. Fortunately in my position I get to drive various vehicles. I had the RS and the 132kw in the new model for 2 weeks. The MKII RS is still a bit better than the 132kw I think. I also found the soft throttle response (delay?) at low speed a pita in the 132kw.
Thanks mate, great feedback. I must admit I do prefer the 6 speed to the 7, I think it has more hesitation.
