Recently, I purchased a Octavia Rs in Sydney MY18.5. But yesterday I found that I can see the Aux-in port in my car. I have searched around the car.inside out, still no found. Anyone can tell me what is reasons?
A manufactured mistake or as normal? but i can see some photos in others have one which are the same year made. please let me know if you know the problem, thanks.
Looked at a couple of photos on Carsales and you are right! It seems the MY18.5 RS has no aux port and only the USB port. However, it seems like the non-RS Octavia's still have it. Here's a shot of the USB port area of the MY18.5 RS, which usually has the aux port also.
It is an interesting choice to remove it but I guess it's one less thing for Skoda to put in since it is quite redundant, especially in 2018 with bluetooth and apple/android carplay, unless you're trying to run some real legacy audio stuff (walkman, discman, MD?). This is like the CD player in cars and will probably happen to in-car sat nav in a few years time.
Edit: Just got a MY19 Rapid as a loner from the dealers and it's also missing the aux port. So it seems like this is the trend for Skoda (or maybe VWAG).
