New Satnav map available for Columbus

Have just updated this on my MY16 Scout. Works fine although I did find the process a little more confusing than the video on the website suggests. I am puzzled though as to why you have to download such a massive file. It's labeled ROW (rest of world) and truly is, covering countries such as India, Brazil, Argentina and Bahrain just to name a few. Does this mean that I can now drive in these countries without getting lost or does it just upload into the car the relevant maps for Aus and NZ?

P55_N60S5MIBH3_ROW_NT_Q1.15
or is there another one.
When you log into the update portal, when does it say the map subscription expiry date is?

Yep, that's the file Volkswagen Fan. It took about 13 hours to download!
I've just logged back onto the update portal but I can't see anywhere where there's an expiry date for map subscriptions. I should have asked a few days back when I put my car in for it's 1000km check....meant to ask but forgot!

as you can see, the subscription expires before i even got the car.

As you can see when I open the same page using my VIN I get the same but with no subscription expiry date.

Maybe I've scored a free lifetime subscription?

And after trying with Heathpete's link, yes it does download and extract the mew map files, but still no luck installing. The only conclusion is that they are encrypted to the car.....

Ah it might link the download to the VIN. I was under the impression map downloads have updates for at least 3 yrs now. Maybe they should do what Hyundai do and include map updates each year you service at the dealer.
