exactly they have no idea, sent a screen shot off to Skoda / VWA customer care and this was the response

Reading through this thread, am I correct in assuming that people with MY16 cars have been able to do map upgrades?

There are 2016 maps I can tell from the portal my car which is currently on a boat has them.

That Kirsten Bradbury mentioned above was actually really helpful when I needed help resolving an ongoing warranty issue. Fingers crossed so,e info will be forthcoming in the not too distant future.

Early April is when we might get further info on map update, apparently Portal not meant for Australian market.

Yeah the dealer for my incoming car has said a few times that the portal is euro only.

Strange. The existing portal worked for mine. Picked up my new MY16 in November 2015 and used my VIN to download and install ROW2016 map update.

Seems like 2016 works but anything before then it doesn't?

Installed the ROW2016 map on my Octavia Scout 135TDI MY16. Bought the car last week - a demo with 55 kms. It came with the ROW2015-2016 map. After many hours to download the 20gb file it only took about 1/2 hr to install in the car.
