Yes their exhaust system are different. Most notable one is the back box. Its one large box which probably has been tuned to produce specific sound. The centre resonator whilst looks the same on the outside is quite different from the inside. Ours has perforated pipe core with chamber in the middle, GTi one has solid pipe core with the same middle chamber.

    Peppermint Snow!!!

Time for a wash on the weekend! I thought that I'd buy a snow foam gun to see if I can get a reasonable clean done a bit quicker. My biggest issue with washing cars is that I can't do half a job or a quick clean...Maybe I'm a bit OCD!

The Snow foam traps quite a lot of dirt and you just wash it off after giving it a few minutes. I then went over the wheels with a wheel brush and hand washed the rest of the car. Turned out pretty good, about 1.5 hours start to finish including drying off and putting all the cleaning gear away.

    Not even close to OCD.
    Try...
    Snow foam
    Power rinse
    Two bucket wash
    Power rinse
    Tar removal
    Wash and rinse
    Iron removal
    Wash rinse
    Clay
    Wash rinse
    Dry - microfibre cloth
    Seal.

Oh and of course there's the wheels done separately and of course the interior.

    Nice car btw

Haha. I spend about 3 to 4 hrs cleaning mine.
Hand Scrub with a separate sponge and bucket on each xtreme.. Rinse. Repeat. 1/4 Body with a large soft sponge then rinse.. Repeat.
Each second time I also sponge aNd rinse the internal Doors and body and seals.
Chamois the body and spot clean tar and stubborn stains.
    I'm definitely OCD

    Wow - I thought I was bad!

Not sure about the clay bar on every wash though.

Isn’t it normally done as part of a decontamination in preparation for machine polishing?

    Absolutely.
Also spent 2 days removing swirls before coating.
Onto the wheels now as the scratches are horrific in the clear coat.
Oh to have a new car rather than buy someone else's mess...

Enjoy your beautiful vehicle, I'm the colour of your car with envy!

Yep, that's exactly what I would do...Then there's the interior!!!! Although clay bar was only once a year and full polish and wax every three months.

It's why our old Jetta only got washed once a year (when it was serviced)! We've been renovating our house for the last three years, so the car has come a very distant second in priority.

This was my old Porsche that I loved, but like so many of these things was sold to buy the family car once we had kids.

This got the serious all day job once a week, sometimes a quick early morning wash during the week if it happened to rain on a Monday or Tuesday!
