    New RS Likes and Dislikes

We finally picked up our brand new RS over the weekend and we are getting to know all the ins and out of it.

Apart from the usual performance/economy/quality observations (all thumbs up BTW), I thought I might start a list of things that we like or dislike.

    Likes:
The new Bolero stereo is excellent; Sound is crisp and punchy, the touch screen is a treat to use and all the extra information is just sooo cool (it shows HVAC, reverse parking, song title/artist, and bluetooth phone stuff if fitted).

The new wheels look marvelous, I was never a fan of the old alloys to be honest.

    Dislikes
The LED day time lights look a bit under done. I like the idea, and on some cars they do look awesome, but the ones on the RS are (please forgive me) more Aldi than Audi. I'll probably keep them off, if other drivers can't see the eye melting red Skoda wagon coming their way, 8 white LEDs wont help.

The roof mounted antenna just unscrews off, how long before some low life takes that I wonder?

The number plate mounting holes don't line up with any ACT plates. In fact the local dealers have to drill new holes in the car to mount them. No thanks! Okay that is not Skoda's fault, and yes the rest of the world has Euro style plates available, but it is annoying me.

Feel free to ad your 5 cents worth.

I will put up some pix if any one wants to see how the RS wagon looks in Corrida Red.

If you want to be annoyed about the number plate...my rear one is slightly off balance....I've not been game enough to see whether its because they drilled wrong in my personalised plates...or in the car itself...I didn't notice if for a few weeks.

Fix for number plate issues = double sided sticky tape. No holes... just make sure it's a high quality exterior grade one (e.g. 3M red) and use lots...

Or zip ties through the bolt holes in the number plate and attach to the grill.

can't get my aerial off for love nor money. Unscrews half a dozen turns then it's stuck. I'm worried that the roof will bend.

Yeah, the number plates are a bugger. I stuck mine on with body tape and they are staying put.

I have a question and it maybe something I havent read in the manual. Are you getting Song Artist and title on your Bolero when playing a CD?? Or when you connect your Ipod etc??
I just seem to be getting CD No. & Track No. not actual artist and title. Might be something I haven't turned on in the settings??

    Cheers

In the Audience 6-stack it only shows track info for MP3s. Store bought CDs show nothing (as there is nothing written in the CD AFAIK - no wonder people pirate stuff).

Any external sources say nothing too.

I'd say if they have CD text you will see it. For some unknown reason most CDs never had this, but its in pretty much every burnt/copied CD.

My plates were fitted by the dealer drilling holes in the plates to match the Skoda holes. Unfortunately they got it crooked-the plate was about 5 or 6 mm higher one end than the other which was driving me nuts. I elongated the holes and it's about right now.

How did they do the front? Holes are about 40mm away from the plate
