New Octy arrival?

Hi guys

We are buying a new car at the end of the year and tossing up between a Jetta TDI and an Octavia TDI.

I'm not too keen on the current look, but the new facelift is appealing to me. Anyone have an idea when it might be arriving in Aus?

I was told around now in nov last year when I was thinking of waiting for the rs. The updated rs with dsg should be able to be ordered soon. No sign of them on the website though

Could be as early as Feb at the Melbourne Motor Show but not 100% sure.

Which TDI are you interested in, 77Kw, 104Kw or 125Kw ?

If you are talking Mk 2.5 TDI vRS (CR) 125Kw (ie new headlights) I don't think we'll be seeing them until late this year or even 2010. There has been an interior revision for the vRS but no new headlights (I've been calling it the mk 2.25 ) and IIRC that is all they are making now.

The non-vRS mk 2.5 (new headlights, 77Kw or 104Kw) should be coming through soonish, they are available in the UK now.

Maybe talk to your dealer and see what they know. If they think you are going to buy a new car from them they should be very keen to help.

Could you point me in the direction of or give any details
on the interior updates to the RS? The current RS looks great.
But the update 2.5 interior is really very nice.
I sat in one at the Motor show the other day and it
was a bit more special than the ones on carssales etc.

The main difference is a different guage cluster...IMHO it looks crapper than the current RS, and seemed to be the base model cluster not a RS one. THe new Bolero touch screen stereo was there as well as the bigger side mirrors and the new style A/C controls....probably the most useful difference is that the steering wheel had all the missing controls mine has..but its an awfully ugly wheel. Also it would have the MDI interface for ipods etc, that would be really useful, but the one I saw didn't have that in the glovebox.
