It's not like it missed the boat, it's just they ran out of room so kept them over for the next one.

This is a good point. Either those cars didn't get put on the boat or the boat was full and it couldn't be put on ...

    (Sucks either way though !)

Is there an approximation as to how much an Ambition+ manual station wagon would cost? Looking at a 2014 build car...

    Thanks

I reckon you could get one for less than 30k, just depends on your haggling power....

The dealer hasn't provided an estimated delivery date, not really surprising given that I ordered and paid deposit May 31 2014, they wouldn't want to get my expectations up. We are now thinking it is likely that delivery will be sometime in June. I could of had a house built in the time it has taken to get the car.

Can anyone give an estimate of how long the ships take to get from Belgium to Fremantle, Australia?

I've been quoted sub 30k already with metallic paint. We don't want/need any options!

Trying to get one with the reverse camera, but it seems as though the stock can be hit and miss in terms of spec, regardless of the week it was built...

    Thanks heaps - much appreciated

Thanks for the sailing schedule for the 'Tiger'. Looks like we might just get the car by the end of May, which will be exactly 12 months since order. If it misses this boat I am going to go postal! I think the wife and I have been very patient in our wait and unfortunately it has diminished the excitement of getting a new car. If it wasn't for the fact we are a one car family and the wife doesn't drive manual cars I would keep the Honda Euro for a bit longer until the new Passat arrives around October this year.

Thank you very much to techdave, I now have a link to the WWL sailing schedule above so can follow the progress of the 'Tiger'.

However, before receiving this very helpful advice I was searching the forum for information about sailing times and I came across the following post from GTR27; 05-09-2014:

"Edit: also, I'm writing a letter of complaint to Skoda about the poor updates/info available to customers, and the huge, massive blow outs in delays (like my order taking twice as long as originally quoted). I suggest all other frustrated owners also do the same. Skoda appears to be ignoring dealer feedback, so coming from customers will carry more weight"

GTR, can you or someone else please provide the an email address for Skoda Australia; I seem to recall someone had even found the email address for the Skoda Australia CEO. Like GTR before me, I would like to provide a complaint email to Skoda about the massive blow out and delays in delivery times. While I don't think my dealer has been a particularly strong advocate for us, I feel the problem rests more with Skoda Australia and hence I would like to lodge a complaint with them. Better than ranting here and boring all of you with my frustration in waiting so long for our new car. Ultimately, if we don't letter Skoda Australia know of our frustration and displeasure with the poor level of service, nothing is likely to change, despite the promise of increased supply. As they say, word of mouth is the best form of advertising. I don't think I can recommend a Skoda car to anyone unless there was a car that fitted their specifications sitting on a dealers lot.
