New Octavia ....when? How Much?

I have to say I actually prefer the Mk III sedan over the Mk III wagon. The only thing I don't like about the MK III is that the gap between the tyre and wheel arch looks much much bigger on the Mk III and is screaming out for some coilovers or something IMO.

Other than that, it's a damn nice looking car!!!

I agree, mkii was better as a wagon, but I think mkiii is nicer in the sedan form, hence I ordered one. I think the wheel arch gap is a bit big, but it is not as obvious in the metal

Picked the car up today. The unicorn lives! Will post up photos when we get home. Gcs have been fantastic, and went to a huge effort to make sure we were happy. I can't get over how much car this is for the money.

Also, whoever was worried about rvc....I didn't order one, but the car came with one! Score!

Here are some quick snaps..... Will edit out plates tomorrow.

Xenon's and sunroof are a highlight.

The ride quality seems great considering it's on 18s, lots more supple than the jazz, rides bumps much better.

Well post up more details/thoughts tomorrow, but it had exceeded my expectations. Have already done 303 interior protectant on it, and the chrome key ends. The screw's in those are made of a substance softer than butter.... They are almost a liquid they strip out so easy. But still, I got them on OK and they look great. Really improve the look and feel of the key a lot.

Tomorrow's mission - start fitting accessories! I'll do a full detail and paint protection Sunday when I have more time! Gcs seems to have done a decent job from what I can see, hardly any swirls in the paint (I took a led light and had a decent inspection). So good in fact, for this first seal, I won't bother correcting it.


Edit: the alaris rims look a lot better in the flesh than they do in pictures for some reason. Even in the one I posted, they look kind of 'thin' but don't look like that at all in real life.

A question to anyone who has received their MK111 Octavia. How long from build to delivery did your car take. The reason for the question is after being told my car was to be built in early November it has now been pushed out to January. Skoda customer lack of service nor the dealer (who has spoken to his sales rep I was there) can or will confirm what prod week of Jan. They just said oh its January its a good result as it was going to be APRIL build!!!! Anyway I suppose I have 2 questions, one re time of arrival after build and another as to weather I should be able to lock down a build date. Surely I'm not asking too much January isn't even 3 weeks away, Im sure the production schedule is already set.

The dealer said if it was built early Jan I would see the car by the end of March does this sound right. (This is really a 3rd question)

My option is to cancel the order and buy a Golf R thats in stock in exactly my spec. Great car but not really what I wanted.
***sed off to be honest it is nearly 7 months from order and a car still hasn't gone into build.

I would love to buy a non VAG product to rub their noses in it but nothing has the options I want at a reasonable price point.

As GTR mused I did think 328i Motorsport manual wagon but can't justify around $80k. 35k more than the RS.

Rant over, what do you guys think??

When did you order? My timeline is slightly longer than normal for a non-rs, but would be slightly quicker than normal for an rs. If it was built in Jan, then march would be about right for delivery.

Thanks everyone else for the thoughts. By God was it a testing period..... But my sheer stubbornness meant we have easily for the best car for the money. I seriously can't believe how good it is for the price. Considering you could get a manual ambition wagon for 24-5k (with travel pack), nothing comes close to value.

Nice to see your car GTR. I'm happy to report the email to my dealer about RVC has led to him agreeing to cover a dealer fitting of it when my car arrives. So another Skoda storyline coming towards a happy ending, I hope... It's delayed a bit, but hey at least it's built and on the boat.

Car was ordered in May, But Skoda Aus have admitted that the order didn't proceed past the dealer entry into the system.
They are still coming back to me why. The updated order was placed in October for a car that was to be built in end of Nov (a car already coded to the dealer) My car was ordered with 19's but I have been told that they are not building cars with 19's until further notice. The order was changed to 18's to get it built.

This whole process has been extremely frustrating.
