New Octavia ....when? How Much?

I used to have a large 18 metre wingspan wooden glider tears back in the UK.
The fuselage was the Octavia blue and the wings were white. On a hot UK day in the sun the blue was too hot to touch and the white was cool.
So my Candy White choice for Australian summers was entirely pragmatic...plus I like it....plus it saved $500...plus it was immediately available.
A win, win, win, win situation for me.

I ordered candy white because it looks so good, is 500 cheaper than everything else, and being non metallic, is much easier for touch ups. Since the car is the wife's, I think it's important. With ac and tinted windows, coloured car doesn't make much difference, so wasn't a factor for me (in qld). Plus with global unlock (hold open button on remote and all windows plus sunroof will open) you can remove all the hot air as you are walking towards the car.

I'm going to change my colour to the metal grey. Tbh, not sold on any of the colours on offer, and I think certain colours are better suited to different models. There is no way I could do dk brown - I deal with enough brown matter on a daily basis with having 2 young kids, iykwim .

Hope you're getting a decent bit of compensation for the order stuff up.

Still in the process of negotiations, but hoping for a decent outcome.

Got a call from the dealer, build week confirmed - week 48!

So you will have it end of Jan/start of Feb. That's not too bad considering the screw up!

Edit: from build to delivery, mine week be roughly 10-11 weeks.

Yes, I'm expecting end of Feb, realistically. Order to delivery was 5 months first time around, 6 months this time isn't bad. Just praying that there are no more issues.

You are definitely a man of extreme patience, I'm pretty much at the limit of mine..... Don't think I could last any longer.

After discussions today looks like mine may be Candy White too. Still to be confirmed, can't remember if this one is already in a depot somewhere or "on the water, docking in the next few days".

Trusting that this is not dealer poetic licence and it all works out.

My wife waited 12+ months for a Mondeo wagon.

Her Fleet guy ordered it - she wanted a deep ruby red colour. Waited a while & eventually found out that the dealer hadn't put the order in because the fleet sales guy had moved on & "misplaced" a few orders.

Then they went to put the order in & Ford had announced a new model so the sytem wouldn't accept the order for the old model... or the new model.

Then the new model didn't have Ruby Red available so the dealer doesn't put in the order & takes 5 weeks to email my wife about her next choice of colour - except they couldn't give her a colour chart. So she tells them silver - any silver.

Then the demand & back-orders were huge so she waited another 6 months for the car.

It wasn't worth the wait either.
