I highly doubt that the standard exhaust system contains any stainless. Too expensive.

I doubt it satisfies # 2 as if he uses stainless it will probably be 304 or maybe 314 or 316 (304 is cheapest). The OEM exhaust appears to be 304. For the environment you wouldn't want more than 0.25v anodic difference. Plain carbon steels are 0.85v, aluminium is 0.95, Stainless is about 0.6v - so maybe / maybe not.

#3 - it's an exhaust. It might be a bit wet under certain conditions but in use it will be dry.

I've seen enough exhausts where the front pipes are MS & the rear pipes are SS and galvanic corrosion hasn't been an issue so it's not something to worry about IMO.
Doesn't moisture condensation occur on the inside and this is only burnt off as the exhaust heats up? Anyway it's not my exhaust so I don't really care. I was merely pointing out dissimilar metals would not be my preference.

My old 1994 Nissan Bluebird had a factory stainless from under the rear seat back including a double skin rear muffler. It was still going strong last time I saw it in 2010. It's probably only 304 which is still magnetic but they do classify it as SS.

That's why I said "wet under certain conditions" but the anodic difference isn't enough to cause an issue

Adaptive Cruise Control.... I cannot believe this technology.

    It's simply the best. Amazing.

    My RS is amazing...

I had work today - I'm a photographer and do a bit of driving. Got the chance to drive out on Mundaring Weir Road, up in the hills of Perth - newly layed tar as well. Windy roads, smooth as.... smoooooooth. Car drove great. Sunroof open, RS mode.... I couldn't be more happy.

I think most of my posts will be like this!

I'm also contemplating this: (unless there might be a full front car bra avail in Australia... or cheaper than the linked one below this one)

    or this?

But here is a larger one but it doesn't have the hole for the ACC radar in the front bottom grill....

Thanks for the update on how good the ACC is. It was one of the must haves when I was shopping around for a new car so it is good to know the technology works so well.

Regarding the car bra there is also an Australian manufacturer. Their website indicates they do customisation so they would be able to accommodate the ACC radar. Here is the link to the site:

Nobody finding the car bra solution so aesthetically offensive it could never be considered? Makes an attractive front into an S&M gimp.

I would only put it on the car on longer/country/distance drives.... keep it off for city driving.

On freeways i've had bad experiences.

First few days of having my Polo GTI - I drove south down the freeway (two lanes in same direct), silly big rig in front of me, spat out some stones! Front spoiler lip, paint peeled off, nice chunk of it! Was devastated!

The last week owning my Polo GTI, went out 45 mins in-land. Again, not so wide of a road, big trailered truck drove past me, I pulled over to the side of the road - stone chip on the SIDE drivers door, high up under window near mirror. CHIPPED!

And sand has done the same on my old car.... not happy. So a Bra would do on longer drives. City, not so much

As my wife says, "the black jock strap would only be worn when going long distances into the bush, she would not be seen dead with it on the car in the City".

While not aesthetically attractive, it is a cheaper option than the vinyl wrap, at least based upon the $1700 we were quoted to cover the bonnet and front bumper/fenders in clear vinyl. I have a plastic bonnet protector on the leading edge of my current car and have a nice big stone chip in the middle of the bonnet where a stone flew over the top of it. Nothing is perfect but something is better than nothing.
