IMHO leather does little for the look of a car these days. Its uncomfortable and expensive. Give me cloth any day.

Regarding the previous chat about ecu and tuning. I asked the APR rep over on briskoda if the RS is a direct port flash like the GTI and he said yes, since they share the same Siemens ecu.

I don't know. If I see leather I know it was an option, therefore higher spec. Generally also stays in good condition longer, and having two ferals (kids) is a much better ownership experience than cloth. The comfort thing I believe is because most makes now aren't real leather. That pleather doesn't feel anything remotely like real leather, which I can understand why people think it's worse than cloth. Still for ease of cleaning/maintenance leather or pleather wins easily. Of ambition could have optioned full pleather like the elegance I probably would have done it.

You beat me to it . The information I posted was based on details from another tuning brand. I have since got confirmation from APR regarding this and the APR representative said, "The New Gen 3 EA888 engine runs a Simos ECU. The ECU upgrade for the 2014 VRS isn't available yet, so we will know more in the coming months."

Phew, BIG sigh of relief. I'm optimistic now about the possibility of a tune . There is a lot of information out there, just need to filter through them. I guess we just need to wait for the tunes to get released in AUS and take it from there.

I like the seats in the current RS over full leather, the Alcantara and the fabric stop you sliding around as much. I find the leather much nicer than the paper thin stuff Hyundai used which peels off the steering wheel at the slightest bump. Thank God I saw people complaining about the Highlanders and didn't get leather seats.

The stuff used in my workmates 2006 luxury 6 has held up very well and is pretty nice.
