From my understanding of everything APR has said it will be treated exactly the same for both the RS III and the GTI MK 7. The Skoda does not have less or more encryption and requires the exact same methodology as the GTI. As far as detection goes they will always be detectable. The only devices that are not are like those Shark boxes on the diesels that just intercept and adjust 2 or 3 wire input/outputs. They are simple plug n play and easily removed.

The only difference I could tell the "Canton" had over the standard "Columbus" was heaps more bass due to the sub woofer. Any techno s out there know if the "Columbus" can run a sub woofer ?

The thing about the cloth is that apparently despite looking slightly cheap it is said to be very hard wearing. Briskoda has reports of My13 cars with 20k on them where the fabric is showing little to no wear.

Supposed to have a 580w amp I think. I had a play with settings which improved it immensely. Sounds a bit doof doof with factory settings. I've read the fabric is hard wearing also...... Taxi spec!

All the top manufacturers including BMW, Merc and Audi don't use real leather... They make their own leather and advertise it as Man Made

Looks like you have spec similar car as mine (or I should say my wife's), I didn't like the leather that Skoda offered, except on the RS, i think down the track, I may replace the cloth with leather plus alcantara.

Looks like only higher end models (with nappa leather in BMW for example) use actual real high grade leather. So M cars, 7 series etc. I suspect that mercedes would be the same also (AMG cars, S Class)

There you go, the leather used in my VE Calais V WAS better than a BMW......

It's not that the fake leather in the skoda doesnt look good (I think it brings the level of the interior up a class) but it certainly doesnt feel like "proper" leather. Its very soft, and synthetic feeling (almost vinyl like). I do suspect its why people dont like leather, as I cant see it breathing anywhere near as good as the real stuff. But different things appeal to different people, which is why skodas are great! Plenty of options to customise the car to how you want it.

Now if they would just hurry the hell up and build my car (err....sorry, the wifes car) i'd be a lot happier! Patience is a virtue, and I dont have it......going to be a loooooong wait!

Didn't really stop to think about the quality of the leather on offer, but I guess at $1200, what do you expect? Either way, easier to clean than cloth, and as I have 2 young boys, seats will need regular cleaning.....

I almost got it for that reason also.... Did they mention it's not full leather like the elegance, it's partial leather like the base rs?

I used to have a Mazda 3 with leather (man made), I sweated pretty bad in summer haha.
