I doubt very much you will sell a car which by my estimates would be 7yrs old for that, but who knows. I'd say you paid about the right amount, there seems to be plenty who think once a car is 3yrs old and out of warranty are worth more. They key thing is the warranty, with an unknown brand people don't like the risks. Doesn't help with VAG having the big public PR disaster the DSG was last year. I'm hoping that the manual RSs become sought after.

So what impact does a 5 year or in my case 6 year warranty and fixed price servicing have?

Incidentally in Europe Skoda have a good reputation as a reliable car.

You can get a top of the range 103 TDI with DSG for under $30 k , about $10 k less than list . Strangely enough the 77 TSI s don't seem to be as volatile, I guess their lower price stops that.

I think the warranty would make the car much easier to sell but would only add a couple of hundred to the asking price. It's a peace of mind thing.

    Antiplastix: Thx!

Agree on the warranty comment there brad. Having a car that will sell when you want to sell it is worth a couple of hundred as well, in terms of not having to hold onto it. Let alone the hassle in time and effort.

While its hard to say how much its worth on 2nd hand, the actual price of those warrantys to buy is almost $2K, so its good value. They have on the Fabia RS which is prob the most unreliable combo from skoda au dry7sp and the oil hungry 1.4tsi)
