Anyone know if on the Combi, there WILL be an auto boot door open/close via button inside car, on boot door AND key? I'm talking for the vRS model

went to the skoda dealership today to have a closer look at the new octavia.
i test drove the elegance liftback, with tech-pack, 2.0 tdi today.
i'm nicely impressed. the interior & electronics r nicely done. nice lines on the body.
i must admit the stop-start function wasn't to my liking.
as my dealer put it nicely, when comparing the mk2 octavia to the new mk3 octavia - "its like sleeping in a different bed.......in a nice way".
its familiar.....but different.
looking at the skoda aus configurator, there isn't much color choices available
the RS looks promising.....depending on wat options r provided.

Matt I'm not sure about the RS, but the electric bootlid a $400-odd option on the normal models. The buttons are on the key, the centre console and, of course, the bootlid itself as you said. Shame Australia doesn't get the extra boot floor, or the easy-fold seats (you pull a tag like in the Mazda6). In fact looking at our configurator, the options list seems fairly basic in my opinion, with little room for individualisation. Yes most things are standard but I'd like dual-zone climate control in the Ambition Plus, as well as heated seats but they're not available at all!

+1
Ambition = not available
Ambition+ = option
Elegance = option
its available on the wagon models only.
For convenience, the automatic boot can be controlled from four separate locations:
- via remote control
- from the centre console
- with an internal button on the boot
- and via an external soft-touch boot button.

Sad there is no sign of a Diesel wagon with cloth seats. Maybe in the new Scout - I hope so because otherwise I won't be considering a Skoda for my next car...

After sitting in an Elegance, compared to the last model, I could live with one with a tech pack so will see how the RS turns out. Last time round it was the RS or nothing as the lower models looked pretty basic.

I drove the DSG. Still laggy and torque limited in 1st gear. Takes 3 sec to disengage clutches and get going, then gets to 2nd and THEN it takes off... No thanks.
No manual in the diesel, and if thats especially true of the vRS then I'll have to look elsewhere for my Manual Diesel Sportwagon. :'(
