I have a Tiguan 155TSI 4Motion now and I was surprised how much the 4Motion robs the engine of power.

The AU brochure notes there is a full sized spare on the Ambition with 16" wheels but all others have a space saver. At least they have a spare - not many cars from MB and BMW have them at all now...

I thought there was a post a long time back saying the floor is higher in our models here due to allowing space for full sized spares in all. If that is the case I would be asking for a full spare to be included. There is a steel one in our current RS but its still limited to 80km/hr.

its still better having a full size 16" wheel than having a bicycle wheel as a spare!!!

Very true. The RS at my dealer only had a space saver wheel and for that reason I asked for a full size spare when I placed my order. I have had a very bad experience with a friends car which had space saver wheels and vowed never to have them.

Can anyone recommend a good tyre shop around Melbourne, preferably in the south-east suburbs who actually takes care of rims and pride their work and not just use inexperienced juniors who end up damaging the wheels.

Yes, only because I insisted on having a spare wheel same as my original alloys, but I did get it for a discounted rate.

I saw the tech pack for the RS was being priced now at $1900 according to some. Is this an official dealer figure or still an estimate?
