I wasn't advised that there would be a delay due to sunroof but can wait til May to hear about any news on built date (so far I was told week 22 or after due to Tech Pack) but I'm not stressed.

    What color did you order?
Hey Matt, thanks for your prompt reply.

I ordered Black with Black Pack (no auto boot) and told dealer today to add the sunroof after he confirmed that there are no delays. Does your price include on road/ drive away price? If so you did really well! He is waiting for Skoda's price for the tech pack before giving me a drive away price. Normally not a fan of sunroofs but from the pics I've seen, it's large size really lightens up the all black interior.

After taking doing a pile a research and thanks to the info on this forum, we've plonked down the deposit for an Octavia RS wagon.
Candy white, Tech Pack, Black Pack and Auto Boot release. Cost is a smidge over $43k. I've also asked if we can get the 18" Turini wheels instead of the Gemini's which I think look a bit to HSV'ish
    Delivery date mid October
The only thing I didn't go for which I'm still thinking about was the extra 2 yrs warranty. Any thoughts ??

That is a good price mate. Well done! Did you get a manual or DSG?

I personally believe the warranty will be good to have given the Skoda (VW) issues and it is also the additional peice of mind factor. I am also contemplating on the extra warranty but will decide close to delivery. They cost about $1500 I think.

    New Octavia ....when? How Much?

Congrats on the order. No interest in moon white?

At 1600 ish the extra 2 years is comparatively well priced. I think it is worth it although there are murmurings pf a move to 5 years as standard. But who knows.

What was normal retail on that wagon? What did they guess/price the tech pack at?

On the warranty note - I'm contemplating it as well. Piece of mind, I'll mention that to the gf as I'm sick and tired of my Polo GTI which has 7months left on warranty and I'm STILL having issues this far into ownership!

Skoda - I cannot wait for September...

I think the extra warranty is a good idea, especially if you intend to sell it privately later when it is 3-5 years old - piece of mind for any buyer.

Remember you must include it before delivery !

Moon vs Candy White - just ask a painter what the chances are of matching either (last time I spoke with one, he hated metallic whites with a passion !)

But Candy White is such a flat creamy generic white. However point taken.

Went for a drive today in a RS wagon. Such a nice drive. So much power on tap, so much room and so much screen! Man I wish my Golf had a screen that big and clear.

Am looking at a MY15 wagon, manual, leather (no alcantara?) pano roof, tech pack, electric boot, metallic paint - $45k drive away.

Is that on the money or am I not trying hard enough?

Appart from flat bottom wheel, what other changes does MY15 bring?

What I found strange is that there is no pricing for the tech pack (according to the brochure), so you don't really have a real cost to compare the offer with.

Wife wanted a manual and I have always driven a manual. Driving the test cars with the DSG hasn't convinced me to change.
Moon white is a metallic colour and as we normally keep cars for 8 - 10 years I think the solid colours are easier to touch up. We live in Sydney and scapes happen here
We were offered the extra 2 years for $990 but we have never had an issue with a car (Subaru's and a Suzuki Swift Sport) that even looked like being a warranty problem.
They guessed the Tech Pack as being valued at $2750 and we have it in writing that if it is priced lower by the time we pick up the car they will refund the difference. If the pack costs more, then they will wear the loss.
Matt - that's really bad that you're still having issues. We were originally looking at the A3 but was put off by how far Audi and VW were on the reliability lists. After falling asleep at the wheel on the way to Melbourne late last year (no damage done - woke in time) I was very keen to get the fatigue monitoring, lane departure systems etc., Octavia RS seemed to be the best value for money.
I was very unimpressed with Subaru's performance and pricing in comparison.
