Looking through the newly released Australian brochure and comparing it to the UK version, it looks like heated seats won't be available on any model.
How do I explain this to my wife?!

He means the launch models. We've already spoken about the missing standard items off the launch models - a squirrel must have run past & distracted you as you've already commented on it yourself in post 510. have a look in the download in post 507 - it says what is missing there.
Are you sure you wouldn't be more comfortable in a Golf Wagon?

Better point is why are they pre production when the RS has been out in Europe since the middle of 2013? Those missing features were available options from the start.

I m surprised how well its been priced. It will probably steal sales from the Elegance and hopefully the Mazda 6 now that it has lost its sporting character. I d be interested in a Diesel wagon just for a change from my TSI , but no manual.
2014 MY14 Corrida Red Elegance Wagon TDI
2009 MY10 Race Blue RS Wagon TSI 6 sp. manual. (Gone)
2011 MY12 Yeti 77 TSI DSG.
Oh dear, that is a tempting price to upgrade. I might need to steer clear of Skoda dealers at least until the Scout comes out to drive back to back![]()
Pre-production is probably a poor choice of terms.
Skoda AU would have had to order the launch vehicles while still negotiating pricing & features with Skoda HQ. The launch feature set would have been based on a best guess and it's very likely that pricing & final standard equipment levels weren't finalised until quite close to the launch date.
