So that'll be roughly 10wks from build to deliv. Hmm. I'm unlikely to see a Jan built vehicle before end of March

I just got a phone call from a friend who said they just heard that Bryan Burt Ford has gone bust.........my car is through Bryan Burt Skoda.
I would be VERY upset if this is true, and I get screwed on the car. Tomorrows a public holiday, but I might go down there on saturday and ask my salesman wtf is going on.....

At the very least, i'd hope that skoda could transfer the car to another dealer (prestige) and I could proceed with the sale there. Annoying, BB seemed good to deal with. Just hoping its rumours and nothing else!

I think you should be ok as you are pretty close to collecting your car. I'd be more worried if it were still months away.

Might change from going a DD, to getting a bank cheque. I'll hand that over when they sign the paperwork stating that i've paid in full. Might ask a lawyer what I should do so I dont get screwed (i.e. pay, then have car repossesed). I want my car dammit!

Thanks all for your informative posts. After much research I ordered a Skoda Octavia Ambition today! It's DSG, sedan, in candy white with the new travel pack that includes the rear view camera (essential request by my wife and hence the need to order.)

The RRP is $26890 driveaway. I got it for $24300 drive away. About a 10% discount. Is that level of discount reasonable and what others are getting?

Also from reading the forum I see that there is a good wait ahead of me till delivery. Dealer said February but I'm guessing more likely April? Can anyone give me a guesstimate? Also will I likely get a 2014 or a 2015 build week?

Looks like you got a great deal! 10% off is considered good enough for people that ordered the RS..and you managed to do it with the Ambition! well done I say...
