New Octavia ....when? How Much?

It is such a lottery. Mine ended up forward almost two weeks of the build date (however, my order for a mid spec car should have been delivered before what I'd now it's 'build date')

Even on briskoda, it seems to be a complete lottery as to when a car is built.

In your case, I wouldn't have taken extras, I would have taken a loan car until mine arrived. Gives them extra incentive to hurry the car up, and you still get a nice new car to drive around in.

The missus and i have gone into our dealer after hearing nothing about progress since our mid-August order with some hard questions. We were given a manual RS overnight to test (brilliant btw) to help us make a decisions as....we're going to cancel our order. AArrghh! We needed it before VERY early January, and that would give 6 months from order to delivery, but as they can't even tell us if our car will be built in November or not this is obviously not going to happen. Great car, but we've decided we're going to buy a second-hand car to tide us over for a year or so until we can get one in stock we want or look at second hand about then. The dealer in Adelaide was great and stated there would be no problem with a refund of deposit/etc. so kudos to them. They've got some stock on the way, so i'm happy to send people their way. I felt sorry for the salesman who obviously has been stung like this recently with other cancelled orders.

On a plus note, there's a Moon white manual wagon with 19" black pack, leather and sunroof sitting there unsold (and unviewed?) in their warehouse along with the candy white liftback we've been lent. Both were under 80ks -before we drove the liftback- and probably only available to someone in Adelaide looking for a manual (i don't think they'll give them up to another dealer by the sound of it but who knows - they said if someone asked specifically....). There's also our order of a Moon white DSG wagon, 18" black pack, leather, sunroof and canton sound that will be around in Feb/March (i guess it's possible to be earlier) if someone currently looking is interested in taking over our order and if the dealer doesn't cancel it straight away. Probably about $45-46?

So close, but no cigar.

Is your dealer solitaire skoda? we bought our RS sedan from them back in August and we've been told this week the car has been built and waiting for the boat. we were expecting next year march april delivery but this is a big surprise!!!! Maybe you should ask the dealer again and the car might be ready to ship as well?

It may be a different situation to ours, It's looking like the backlog for RS DSG Sedans is much less than RS Wagon manuals.
I've been given provisional BW 42 after ordering just 3 weeks ago (whether that's confirmed is another matter), but it's still much earlier than expected for April 2015 delivery estimate.

Do you have Tech Pack? I'm hoping to find out from Solitare that my June order RS DSG Sedan, 18 in Black, Leather and Tech Pack has been built shortly, but refuse to allow myself to believe it until I actually hear it.

I placed my order on the 22/09/14 and was given an ETA of 31/01/15. White RS Wagon, Manual with tech Pack (No camera), sunroof, 18" black pack. So it will be interesting to see how true that ETA is.

Yep Solitaire. Other than wanting a wagon, we chose all the options which, at the time, were NOT going to delay the order, so that they expected the guaranteed (close enough) delivery by first week of Jan - still over 5 months. They say they're as surprised as we are that we hadn't been given a build date, even provisionally, but was apparently meant to be done some time in November. We simply would not have ordered if we couldn't be given some good estimate of arrival. This is the reason we chose the Canton sound only also. They had no firm date for us, only "in november". It's not the dealer's fault i'm afraid.

Not the tech pack, just the Canton upgrade. We were told the tech pack would definitely (at the time coming with reverse camera) delay the order. It seems the tech pack is only just being sorted with allocations all designated, or something. I hope yours has been built - Shaun (the boss) seemed perturbed and thought that ours (being over 5 months all up) was out of the ordinary for him. Surely yours counts as 'out of the ordinary' if you ordered in June and don't have it confirmed as being shipped already?

Yes we've got tech pack with RVC which was said will delay the production. The sales person is on leave at the moment. We are planning to make trip there see find out whether we can get the VIN of the car, we still can't believe this until we see the VIN. Hope the car you've ordered back in June will be waiting for the boat !

Skoda Australia are in a no win situation with All Skoda's here in AU. If you are after a manual, in any Skoda be prepared to wait! Europe is mostly a manual continent and with the smaller amount of RHD vehicle being made, getting specific build cars takes time,, Having recently returned from Europe where in Germany particularly,Skoda's are everywhere. Here in AU we have not seen this as yet because of supply issues and being owned by VW AU. Skoda is VW groups, fastest growing brand worldwide. We are such a small RHD market that these are the realities of wanting these great vehicles.
