No boom sound here either, can be noisy but definitely not a boom...and I drive with no music/radio on.

Speaking of cross shopping cars, I originally wanted an Amarok, but only if it had the v6 diesel. Then I considered a polo gti. The problems with the 1.4 twincharge put me off, so I went for a Golf gti. I was ready to order one but had a quick look at the Rs and I was sold.
Regarding briskoda, I find it funny when they discuss modding and the so called perils with warranty haha.
Everything is about diesel too. Most buy diesel vrs, because it's cheaper tax, cheaper to run and higher resale for them. A lot sound like traveling salesman.....
Yup definitely a diesel obsession over there. But to be fair they are passionate. In Australia I do not understand why anyone would buy a diesel VRS over the petrol. I see no compelling argument.
Got in touch with my dealer this week, ordered my DSG TSI hatch RS in mid June and the build week should be week 43
The warranty is 2 years Skoda + 1 yr Skoda UK and I think Skoda UK are pretty tight.
Their biggest issue with modding is insurance. It appears the way they insure & the T&Cs and obligation to disclose information to the insurer are quite different to here.
OTOH, look at the track-day scene & the numbers are huge compared to Australia, so they are more willing (or it's easier / cheaper) to get out on the track
I originally went looking at the vRS with diesel, but after driving both and putting the scottish element aside I ordered the petrol. Plus the petrol has manual !
I tend to do a lot of kays so the economy excited me, but then the revhead took over :) And it's "only" 2 l/100k :driver:
Speaking of modding. Anybody tuned their new RS ??
