I got one fitted on mine - I convinced the sales person it should have been there & they got it as warranty (pulled one off the TDI floor stock i think & claimed it that way.) but that was back in 2008 and Skoda dealers didn't have a clue about the cars & were bending over backwards to make people happy.
I mainly wanted mine so the engine heated up quicker & also to stop the heat of the engine bay affecting the paint on the bonnet (I had a ZD Fairlane 302 & the bonnet got crows feet in the paint due to high under bonnet temps - I realise the Fairlane was near 50 year old paint tech but I like to obsess :-)
If you're paying out of your own pocket then drive around for a bit & see what you think - some of the other guys think they are too quiet without the insulator.
