New Octavia ....when? How Much?

I cant speak to the relative popularity of my dealer but is the biggest (for Skoda) in W.A and one of only 2 in the State. They seem to have a good supply of Octavias with 3 or 4 RS in the showroom.

On another note I see on CarSales that there are now 61 RS TSI's listed up from around 52 a week ago. Also see 4 manual RS TSI's listed including a good looking race blue wagon.

Those manuals don't actually exist, they're "Brand New Cars Available to order", untick that option and there'll be 54 TSI's, all auto. Thats still a good number though, but it does go to show people want the tech/black packs.

Even in SE QLD, there are not many dealers. 2 in brisbane itself, one on each coast (sunny and gold) and 1 in toowoomba. Not a huge range of choice!

If I wanted a bare bones DSG car, I could pick one up right away.

But
1. I will not own a 7spd dsg. Way to many reported issues for me to be comfortable buying one to keep long term
2. I dont want to spend 40K. The ~32K I have spent is my upper limit, and considerably more than the 25K I initially intended to spend.....

Therefore, those two caveats essentially rule out 99% of the available cars.....

Could someone tell me if the RS Octavia will have XDS?

And what is it? Something to do with the diff..... now... I'm not a car expert but funny thing is I love cars! (i'm not that technical) but this is what everyone raved on about when the MK VI GTI Golf came out... some fancy pants technology differential. Now the MK VII GTI Golf has more tech..

I take it the new Octavia RS we have all bought/ordered will have this XDS ... there is a brief line in the RS brochure but nothing else...

XDS is the traction control system brakes the wheel losing traction, same sort of tech is in your Polo GTI dude

The previous model rs had it so safe to assume this model does. (I think xds is for shipping trolley models and xdl for gti/rs)

Whats the difference between XDS and XDI? And what do they do?

XDS for Mk6-gen (Polo GTI, Octy RS 2 etc.) and normal mk7 golf.

XDS+ Mk7 GTI/R & Mk3 RS

All XDS+ means is its a newer system and has that new ESC-Sport option, which was a lot like changing the XDS setting via VCDS anyway.
