New Octavia ....when? How Much?

My dealer has contacted me after being away for a month on holidays. My RS Wagen Octavia will be built this week on Thursday!

I have every option except Leather seats. There wasn't any detail given about the Adaptive Cruise Control holding the build back or that it won't be included so everything will be put in he car. I have it all!

Because dealers are ****s....either his is wrong, and yours sucks or vice versa. The only time it looks anything is certain is the car is physically at the dealer.

Yeah I know. Reading the threads on briskoda has me amazed at how crap the info can be around wait times/build delays etc.

There are people on briskoda that ordered in december last year that still dont have their car (rs models). But there are people that have ordered, waited 3-4 months and gotten their car (rs). Often with options that "delay" the car. There doesnt seem to be any logic with how the orders are fufilled - or even something as simple as when they were placed. I know that's how it is, and really is the worst part about the whole skoda experience! I'm sure if I was desperate, I could ask my dealer to check any incoming orders for a car similar to my build and see what I could do about getting one sooner. But for once, im going to stick it out, and get everything on a car that I want, rather than having to compromise. Just means I'll have a 6 month wait for the car. It could be worse, it could be an A45 AMG merc (~12 months), or even worse, a GLA45 AMG merc (~12-18 months!).

Also ordered in mid May(an RS) and have a confirmed build date as of today for Thursday this week!! Hopefully that means dellvery in September, maybe late August if lucky.

:O very lucky. I'm sure you've posted your spec before but could you please share it again? Hatch/Combi TSI/TDI etc.

Like I said before I suspect their dealers already had an order in the system, which they modified when these guys placed an order. Hence the short turn around on an rs delivery. Lucky for them!

EDIT: I bet neither car is a manual which would strengthen my theory (dealer more likely to order a dsg for stock)

Pretty sure no existing orders modified as originally dealer had no idea when car would be delivered. We even has a clause inserted if not here by December. I held off ordering till I knew it would be a MY15 build (beyond week 22). To reiterate. Specs are Hatch DSG TSI, Tech pack, Black pack no sunroof.

Yeah people getting builds before others is generally because of dealer allocations, so if you order from a popular dealer whose over allocated orders then you may be waiting longer than others who've ordered from a quieter location. Same problem occurred with the Polo GTI couple of years ago, and is probably happening with the Golf GTI too.

Also the codes for the RS Tech pack didn't actually come out til May so as far as the factory is concerned all orders for RS Tech pack cars were done then in a big lump.

Happy its a hatch though, hopefully I will be getting some good news in a week or two. Looking forward to tracking my boat to the nth degree
