Thanks bluefrog.. Mine is 3984, 7360! That's really weird that they're different.. maybe your dealership upgraded the maps before delivery.. -sigh-

    no worries

yeah that is weird, will be interesting to hear what they have to say ..

I have to say, the skoda satnav is one of the best OEM navs I've seen. It's a zillion times better than Holden's pile of shyte

Do you know what firmware you have? Apparently POI doesn't work with the V3 maps and new firmware.. I guess I'll be sitting in the garage tonight playing! bluefrog, have you found that when you press and hold the boot button and try to open the boot it is still not quite unlatched? If I press and hold a second time it unlocks.. It's not every time so it's weird!
Is your boot opening at all when you press the button? The Skoda has a programmable (throught the setup menu in instrument cluster) ability to open all doors with one press of the unlock button, or just the driver's door followed by the remaining doors + boot with a 2nd press. The boot will normally unlatch with a single press of the boot button (and then you release by pressing the rubber button hidden up above the number plate), or alteratively hold the boot button in and the boot lid should unlatch and pop out for you. If you've just unlatched the boot without the other doors and, after doing whatever you need to do, close the bootlid, the car should relock all the doors with a confirmation flash of the indicators. If it's not doing all this, it may have a problem that needs fixing - maybe misalignment of the latch?

    Hi redline,

I have it set to open all doors etc etc but this is when I hold the boot button on the key. If I push and hold it the boot 'pops' but once in a few it will not fully unlatch and when I go to pull it open it's popped but caught on something.. as if it hasn't fully unlatched.. I think it's going to be a hard one to explain to the dealer as it doesn't happen every time. :S

MAPS! I've downloaded the new maps and they seem to be working.. just about to do the POI! YAY! Thanks for the help!

Just an update.. The Maps worked perfect and the POI I installed worked a treat too! Thanks again everyone!

I'm pretty sure that's what it's supposed to do, mine does the same thing. I think it's a safety thing.

Just to make it clear as others mentioned it, but I think you missed it. When you press the boot button, it just unlocks it. You still need to press the physical button on the boot itself for it to unlatch. Sometimes the first action will be enough but you are still supposed to press the button on the boot. The keyfob is for unlocking, not for opening if that makes sense.

The key fob actually opens the (small) boot of my Superb. Wouldn't it be the same as an Octavia? .....or maybe not.

the whole idea of holding the boot button on the remote down is so that u don't have to press the button under the boot - just lift the boot.
i haven't been able to "just lift it" to this date.
