    New to Octavia II TDI

    Hi All,

my wife and i have just bought a 2010 Octavia Combi TDI. She loves the torque but wants more... who am i to deny her?

So who can chip the BKD and how much should it cost? Any experiences with different tuners?

Also we need a towbar... Lots of threads on this but very little information. Who do i buy the electrical and mechanical parts off to do it myself (like all Aust. skodas it has the hitch prep option).

Thats about it... it would be nice but not essential to improve connectivity with the stereo, this sounds expensive.... any suggestions on options here (bluetooth and ipod etc, maybe a sat nav head unit).

Try DNA Tuning or Custom Code. Around $1k-ish

Revo usually have a summer sale in december - I don't know who the rep is down there.

Dealer Locator | REVO, Race Bred Adrenaline

they used to be in oakleigh at a VW specialist but two other dealers down here now. (I took my A4 there for an issue) Interestingly, the A4 was revo'd in teh UK before coming over, and Revo in Aust sent the ECU back to the UK to be fixed. All under lifetime warranty.

I saw Revo for around $600 a few months back.

    Otherwise DNA tuning.

i have used igrom in the a3, it works ok an will give Bluetooth as well as iPod connectivity. have to check for skoda compatibility. Or retro fitting a head unit is pretty easy, but they are not 'cheap'. just need a quick vcds after fitting. A local new retro fit should be able to be had for $1kish

And if you want to go the whole hog, and you dont have it now, you can retro fit a multi function steering wheel(mfsw). there is a good write up in this forum.

There's a hitch and a Euro ball on that page but I wonder if they have the bars weight spec mixed up? Just because the bar can do 1800Kg doesn't mean the car can. I think the 2WD Octavias are limited to less than the 4x4's.
