When I went to the dealer (VW) for the test drive, they told me there was a battery problem, they still haven't fixed it after 1 and half weeks.

Apprarently they needed a new fusebox that was ordered from Perth?

3 weeks on still no word on pick up date.
Have $1000 deposit down on it and have signed a contract of sale with them.
They also gave me a loan 118Tsi for over a week which I have kinda scrached the hubcabs a little.

I have found an RS wagon that I like that is going to cost me $2400 more to buy, but is 1 year older and 20,000kms more on the clock and has a small dent in it (which I dont care too much about , but the next buyer might when it comes time to sell).

Do I go for the wagon and return the loan car and try fight for $1000 deposit back ?
And possibly be ask to pay for loan car usage and scratches I put on it?

Or just wait it out for the cheaper, newer hatch...

It sounds totally bizarre - from both sides.

I think it's got to the point where only you can get yourself out of this pickle.

I don't think they'd charge you for the usage but the damage...

Just bought my dream combo.. MY12 Black Wagon, 147tsi with sunroof, leather, hids and dsg.

Now to get my deposit back for the lift back..

Finally got my RS today!
Picked it up from Trivett used cars today. IMO i got it pretty good price and its fully loaded.
Cheaper than all the other over-priced ones on carsales plus they threw in a bunch of quality BMW merchandise and toys for the kid
The sales guy was the best I've ever dealt with. (I think he must have been surprised I lined up at 8:30 when the doors opened on Tuesday and car was sold 25 mins later)

Just looked back that this thread, took me 4 months to find the perfect car !

Agree, black isn't my first choice, or 2nd lol.. I quite like Anthacite Grey and White in either liftback or wagon.
